NEWSPAPER WAR: Belfast is to have FIVE daily newspapers. The "Daily View" will be launched on April 4. The editor is Greg Harkin, former editor of the Daily Mirror on this side of the water. The news follows hard on the launch of the "Daily Ireland" alongside the existing "Belfast Telegraph" "News Letter" and "Irish News".
Is there room for it?
Greg Harkin says: "Existing newspapers are not serving the market that is there. There is a market for people who want to move on, away from the Orange and Green coverage. There is a new vibrancy in the city which is not being served by other papers."
Greg says there are stories which are never reported from an in-depth view -" There is a third way; issues such as how much is spent on school meals each day. There are a myriad of issues that aren't covered"
What do TheCopyboys think? What do you read each day? Can the Daily View succeed?
